Reggae legends UB40 to play exclusive outdoor show.

The TUS Gaelic Grounds will rock to a different beat next year with an Irish exclusive outdoor show from the legendary UB40 feat Ali Campbell on Sunday August 24th, 2025. Joining them on the bill is special guest Damien Dempsey who will be performing tracks from his brand-new album Hold Your Joy plus all of his fan favourites. More acts will be announced next year.

Fuelled by the voice that powered UB40 to 70 million record sales and over fifty UK chart hits, Ali Campbell,  and the latest incarnation of his extraordinary band,  will take his legendary reggae sound on tour next year with the Gaelic Grounds playing host to this exclusive outdoor show.

Last year marked 40 years since the release of UB40’s seminal album ‘Labour of Love’ on 12th September 1983, which produced the groundbreaking hits that will be performed on this tour such as ‘Cherry Oh Baby’, ‘Many Rivers to Cross’, ‘Please Don’t Make Me Cry’, and of course the ubiquitous ‘Red Red Wine’ which topped the charts on both sides of the Atlantic and Ireland. Further hits from across the band’s career such as ‘Kingston Town’, a cover of ‘I Got You Babe’ with Chrissie Hynde, and ‘(I Can’t Help) Falling In Love With You’ helped the band and Ali Campbell become the authentic voice of UK Reggae, with a total of 70 million records sold, as they took their smooth yet rootsy musical blend to all corners of the globe.

Building on a legacy that dates back 45 years to his formative years in inner-city Birmingham, singer and guitarist Ali’s touring ensemble remains the most authentic realisation of UB40’s original aim of advancing reggae in all its guises.

‘I think I’ve got the best reggae band in the world” says Ali “we can play in the UK, Africa or an island like Fiji, and people will be buzzing afterwards”
